This weekend was GR30K weekend. Dressed up in costumes. Ate Indian food. Listened to metal with Chris Eddy. Good times.
Yesterday was big crap day. Must have been the collard greens. Ate Hamburger Helper. Good times.
Tonight is METALLICA AT THE VAN ANDLE!!!!!!!!!!! Hope they don't suck. Should be good times.
Still waiting for trip money. Dad seems to think it'll be here by the middle of this month, but doesn't really know. Waiting sucks.
My Mom is out of Xanax. Can't see her doctor until next week. God help us all.

I recently met an interesting girl who is rather undeniably alluring, but not in a way that I'm used to. I don't know her well enough to be attracted to her in a practical way. It is a kind of attraction that was born and remains buried just underneath the surface. Some kind of energetic inter-connectedness that is noticeable to a higher-than-average degree of profundity.
In the past I would have been all over her like white on rice by now, but it appears that my break from relationships truly has actually managed to have a lasting effect on my standard protocol. There was a point when any attraction I felt to any female instantly merged with desire for companionship, and the result was most commonly some intensely shameless flirting on my part. I didn't possess the insight to realize how strongly I had a tendency to come on, and that it was a consistently effective method to make any somewhat sane girl run for the hills. On the other hand, the girls who did actually buy into my sappiness were normally just as clueless as I was... resulting in disastrously ill-fated codependent relationships.
Taking a long break from dating rocks. I recommend it to anyone that keeps hitting dead ends in relationships. It is awesome to find oneself liberated of habitual dating and being in a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship. Now that I am happy on my own, I've been able to define my standards. From this vantage point, I can look back on girls that rejected me at certain times in my life and think, "Oooooh, now I get it. It was because I was a needy little chunk of motionless driftwood!". I truly respect the girls that have rejected me now. They had standards. Good for them. I actually have a little less respect for the girls who were content being with me when I was at my worst. Seriously: wtf was wrong with you? ;)
So now what do I do when I meet a cute girl that I feel spiritually connected to?
Well, I don't really do anything. Why do I have to do something? Feeling connected to someone is certainly a piss poor reason to overlook other contributing factors. I am finally beyond the stage of radically swooning over a pretty smile and touch of wit.
I can be spiritually connected with a pretty friend that has a vagina (presumably) without wanting to complicate things. Reading over this, it all seems like a no-brainer. I suppose I was a frustratingly slow learner in this area, however..

My grandma is looking to buy some relatively cheap makeup brushes..I told her I'd ask around because the only ones I own are MAC and I know that there are some good cheap brands out there..
